Dog walker wanted - 1 replies

billybraham Posted by billybraham in Recommended Tradesmen and Companies in Aldridge on Sun Jan 2, 2022 7:59am

I have inherited my late brother's very elderly, medium-sized dog.

I desperately need someone to give him a short walk each day on the lead. This may suit a responsible teenager who would like to earn a few pounds.

Aldridge LGBTQ, friends and allies. Let's make friends. - 0 replies

Katt Posted by Katt in Find friends in Aldridge on Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:51pm

I have made 2 groups so far for the village community to have it's own place in the world.

You are not alone...let's get to know each other. There is strength in numbers.

It's not a place for finding a date, but sharing news, help, advice and information.

Family and other suppportive people are welcome.

Please respect the privacy of members. What occurs in the group, stays in the group.

I will link to the group here, on nextdoor and on Facebook.

You do as much or as little as you choose. It's YOUR space and nobody can tell you what you are or how to behave.

You are beautiful and unique, strong and brave. We will show the next generation that Aldridge is a safe place for people like us.

We have allies in Morrissons. Do feel free to build on this with knowledge of LGBTQ friendly businesses.

Wventually, we will arrange gatherings and get-togethers, but again it's your own choice to be involved, or not.

New waste disposal and recycling centre proposals for Aldridge.

It's not been mentioned or denied, so my guess is our lanfill is out of space. Wendy Morton has been "inundated" with complaints about it. Did she put it there? Who do you think makes all that rubbish? As we are grown adults, maybe we all need to accept some responsibility and take a look at the things we fill ou bins with. When the truck turns the corner, the council tax does not mean it vanishes. If we all did a little change, it would make a huge collective difference and benefit us all.

Both Bloxwich and Aldridge sites are expanding. The former McKenchie Brassworks site has been earmarked. The good news is there will be A substantial area of Solar panels (although why this small island can't make better use of all the winmd, I do not know), to generate renewable energy. Let's hope we see some sun then.

Both sites finally get a "Reuse shop", so those starting will little can have perfectly uable household items to get them started.

You can comment on proposals up to 31st October:

have your say

Appeals and public involvement has now ended.

Do you SMOL? - 0 replies

Katt Posted by Katt in Where to buy things in Aldridge on Mon Oct 25, 2021 1:01am

Smol.

This is the best change to make a start.reducing your impact on our planet.

It's a choice of bio , non bio and unscented laundry pods . But all delivered to your door in recyclable packaging. Try the free sample first... you know.. Skin can be a funny thing.

There's fabric conditioner It also comes to your door, but you keep the box and they refill the bottles.

Next surface cleansers. Via the postie, and this time,no water Just bottles and fizzy tablets. Colour coded, so idiots like me don't get mixed up. When you run out, just order more tablets. So much less weight to travel. One for mulitpurpose, a glass cleaner and a bathroom spray.

And even dishwasher tablets. Can't say I tried them.

Finally, hand sanitizer. Everything is vegan and cruelty free. All recyclable packaging and non harmful ingredients. Since Ecover was brought by Unilever, this is probably the last British player. The boxes have childproof openings too.

My daughter runs a cleaning company and uses them. Saved me so much money and the effort of carrying it home. There's no lose in this game.

You can control the frequency of delivery very simply online,so you don't run out ot end up with a stockpile.
