Posted by My great grandparents Arthur and Mathilda Brookes lived in Shepards Row from approx.1892 and I am looking for any information about the homes which were there. I know they no longer exist but have no idea when they were demolished or where the people who lived there would have gone. I would also like to find out where my grandmother Ethel Brookes went to school if I can,would there have been a school nearby.
I know Arthur was a miner,but he was also reputed to have been know as Dr. due to his ability and use of herbal remedies.Is there any folk lore pertaining to someone that is known of.
If anyone can offer any information of any kind I would be interested..Many thanks in anticipation.
