I am a social worker working with a foster carer family who have been caring for two children and are now going to care for them permanently. Our service is funding an extension to their property but we have just found out the family will need to move out. We need to find a house to rent for two or three months from the end of October but this is proving to be very difficult. We would pay all the rent up front and the landlord's agency fee if applicable. The family have obviously been thoroughly vetted and would be excellent tenants. Can any one help or offer any suggestions?

Hi All
You have until Thursday to tell Reading Council your views on their proposal to change the status of the Thames Footpath 1 to a shared cycle / pedestrian path. Although a FOOTPATH this path always has a lot of cycle traffic & because the land is privately owned it has not been possible to enforce a cycling ban. This would require a Court Order
If you have had problems with cyclists on this FOOTPATH then tell the Council. Email or write to Giorgio Framalicco, Chief Planning Officer, Reading Council. Or fill out the form on the reading.gov.uk website.
There has been accidents. There has been dogs & birds hit by cyclists. Please do it by Thursday.

Hi All,
I am new to this forum & haven't found this thread but I believe it is something that has already been discussed.
I live on the Thames Foot-path 1 opposite the Island Bohemian Bowls Club on Fry's Island. As the land owner over which we have to allow the FOOT traffic on the path I have seen many incidents of reckless cycling (& even motorcycling) from people who argue that it has always been a path on which they cycle. They don't believe that cycling was specifically disallowed by a public order dated 24th November 1997. It is not surprising when the Council agree to put No Cycling Signs up then take them down or produce inaccurate maps. The maps on the display boards have been changed to say that Cyclists Should Dismount.
For those who doubt I would like to attachi The Order 533/97 dated 24/11/97 with minor modifications dated 8/12/2000
