I know there’ll be polarised responses to this post, if any.
Have you wondered why chard does not have a McDonald’s, or Burger King etc?
I wonder whether or not the high street being on a slight hill might deter potential customers.
Here are my pro’s and cons.
Pro
It gets people into the Main Street.
Youngsters like it and gives them a place to meet up.
Provides employment
Could attract visitors to the town.
Cons
It’s McDonald’s
Antisocial behaviour attracted
Mess in the streets

Well, I received an email from the chard forum with a ‘digest’ of latest posts.
There was one in 2016 and the most recent in January 2020.
With coronavirus restricting us severely to an online presence, I’m astonished that there are not more posts.
I’d love to promote chard, surrounding areas and its residents. Can we?

I am trying to trace my cousins (another) Mark Hardy and Jane (nee Hardy) and another brother whose name I cannot remember, children of Joan Hardy deceased 2012 formerly of Snowdon Heights, Chard. I already tried contacting the new owner of that house to try to be put in touch with the solicitor handling the sale, but the letter was returned to me 'not known'. I'd be grateful if someone could help me to contact my cousins as we have not seen each other for many years.

My daughter (20) is moving to Chard and needs to make some friends - she's literally starting from scratch! Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
