Do you have an hour to spare for an informal chat about your experience of living on a low household income – and how you, your family and community have been affected by benefit changes, cuts to your local services, recent changes in the job market and also the pressures the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions?
I am a researcher at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, who is studying the impact of financial and other pressures on households and local communities with experience of economic and other inequalities, in order to encourage politicians to introduce better policies for addressing these issues.
As part of my project, I am keen to speak to individuals and families who are living on low incomes – to hear about the challenges you have faced both before and since the pandemic. I would be interested in speaking to you about:
· your experience of the benefits system, the cost of living and/or the job market
· challenges your neighbourhood, community and area/neighbourhood/town have faced over the period that you have been living there
· the impact of employment changes and spending cuts on your household and your area
· the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on people living and working in your area
I am hoping to speak to people from as wide a range of backgrounds as possible - so please get in touch if you have experience of financial hardship and are interested in taking part, whatever your age, gender, ethnicity and/or religious and cultural background. As a small thank-you for your time, I can offer you a £10 gift voucher.
If you are interested in speaking to me, please contact me initially via this forum's private messaging facility.Thank you for reading, James
