It would be so wonderful for me to find new friends in Grimethorpe, as I feel with this village a strong communion. I'm 62 years old, alone at hhome, I love music, reading, forums, travelling, meeting people.

I heard about Grimethorpe through the programme Listen to the Band, and the film Brassed Off. At the beginning I didn't pay too much attention, I just appreciated the musical and social values of this black comedy. But when Mum passed away in Dec. 2016, to listen to music helped me alot. I found resilience in songs, orchestras, and especially brass bands. I feel now with dear Grimethorpe a strong communion, and my desire is to create a be-friending there, with someone who, like me, is alone at home, whatever circumstances. I am very happy to have found this forum, which is easy of use for sight disable people, except the pictures you have to add on your profile. But I got the necessary help from my family support.

I'm very sad that Listen to the Band has come to an end.
