Planning Application Ref:  PL/2021/00189/PPFL

Formation of 388 additional car-parking spaces (on greenbelt) to serve Units A and B at Prologis Park, Progress Way, Marston Green

The above Planning Application by I.A.C. has upset and infuriated the local residents.

After several years of enduring the building works of these two enormous units, a period of relative calm had descended, when the works had been completed.  Residents had been assured by S.M.B.C. and the Developers, that the small amount of Greenbelt land (abutting Blackfirs Lane and Coleshill Heath Road) would be regarded as sacrosanct and act as a 'buffer' zone for the residents, to help mitigate the impact of this massive project.  Local people regularly use this green space for fresh air and exercise.  Trees and shrubs were also planted to try and block the view that Blackfirs Lane residents now constantly overlook.

The idea that this small area of Greenbelt land (on the west side of Unit A and the south side of Units A and B) will be encroached for the construction of hard-standing car-parking spaces, is outrageous.  This would increase I.A.C.'s total car-parking capacity from 212 to 600 spaces. Such a dramatic departure from the original plans of this site (approved by the S.M.B.C. Planning Committee in 2016/17) is totally 'out of order' and unacceptable.

It is appreciated that Cllr Bob Sleigh OBE, Cllr Alison Rolf, and Bickenhill and Marston Green Parish Council, are giving residents their full support against this Planning Application.
