I am looking for information on Jessie Barber Simpson (nee Hewetson) who was a V.A.D. at Galloway House when it was a hospital. She also had a school friend Nancy McCaig (nee Brown) who I believe was also a V.A.D. at the hospital. Also, does anyone have any details as to who else worked there in any capacity

Hi all, I have unfortunately lost contact with my Auntie Morag McHarrie. She did live in Ghyll Crescent with her son Lesley.  We believe there was a flood and she was moved, however no information was passed on as to whereabouts. We need to get in touch with her as soon as possible. We would be very grateful if anyone can help with any information. Thank you very much.

I AM RESEARCHING MEMBERS OF THE VOLUNTARY AID DETACHMENT  WHO RESIDED IN THE NEWTON STEWART AREA.AND WORKED AT GALLOWAY AUXILLARY HOSPITAL AS MY LATE MOTHER DID. ONE V.A.D. WAS JESSIE HAVETSON (A.K.A. PADDY) WHO MARRIED PETER SIMPSON OF CULSCADDEN FARM AND IS THE MOTHER-IN-LAW OF MRS MARGARET J. W. SIMPSON (NEE ?).  i BELIEVE JESSIES SCHOOL FRIEND NANCY MCAIG (NEE BROWN) WAS ALSO A V.A.D. BUT i HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHO THEY ARE. ALSO WORKING THERE AS A V.A.D OR NURSE WAS A MRS ALLAN WHO RAN A FLOWER SHOP IN NEWTON STEWART.I WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF ANYONE CAN HELP OR WITH OTHER NAMES WHO ALSO WORKED AT THE HOSPITAL. OTHER NAMES I HAVE ARE KAY FITZPATRICK, MRS SHAW (A CONTRACTORS WIFE), SISTER JOHNSTONE, MARY HUNTER, JENNY EDGAR.,

These items disappeared from my garden in Newton Stewart a few weeks ago on a Friday night.

MISSING 

10 year old tabby cat lost on Sunday 13th March 2016. Last seen around Maxwell drive. 

This cats distinctive quality is that he is blind in one eye which looks weepy. He is very timid and foreign to the area so approach cautiously. He normally responds to his name (BUGSY) or a high pitched whistle.
