Hi, I am trying to trace members of the Parkin family who once lived at 22 Allens Road in Southsea. My grandfather was Leonard Joseph Norman Parkin and was married to Emily nee Wilson I believe. I think they had one son called David.
If anyone has contact details for David or possibly any of the extended family I would love to speak with him about my grandfather. Any information would be gratefully received.

Hi folks,
Just signed up about 45 years later of my childhood memories of what to me is the best place in the UK.
I could go on forever talking about my days with my grandparents and cousins on our caravan holidays at Fleet farm just down from the Ytree pub, but to save you all that my good lady has booked us into a hotel in Southsea(Another well-visited place in the day) for my Birthday in about a weeks time and I would like to ask you for your recommendations on the best Curry House AND Chinese restaurant in the area?

Planning Application 21/0021/FULThe owners of South Parade Pier have applied for planning permission to build a large Crazy Golf facility on the beach to the West side of the pier. This would occupy a large area of beach which is very popular because of the shelter from the wind that is provided by the pier. It is worth noting that the whole of this area is designated a heritage area.
If you disagree with a private individual overtaking areas of a public beach in order to benefit financially, you can lodge an objection at www.portsmouth.gov.uk and search for view or comment on a planning application.

Hi, we are not too familiar with Southsea, having only stayed once recently. We shall be returning to look for a 1 or 2 bed flat, probably in the area from Kent Road/ Marmion Road going north up towards Margate Road / Victoria Road North. Budget ( hopefully ! ) up to £140K.
Are there normally a reasonable number of suitable properties in this area ? Can people recommend the best estate agent to deal with for this area.
