Help Local London Girl Find Stem Cell Donor - 0 replies
Hi all,
I am posting to raise awareness for Stoke Newington based girl, Talia Tosun.
In April, Talia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) and at the end of August, she was informed that she needs a bone marrow transplant due to chemotherapy being ineffective. Unfortunately, her sister isn’t a match, nor is anybody currently on the Anthony Nolan Register. Talia is of Turkish Cypriot descent and her best possible match would be from somebody of the same ethnicity, however, there is currently a huge lack of black, Asian or minority ethnic (BAME) donors. It is vital that we raise awareness to diversify the register and to ensure Talia and others have a chance of getting lifesaving stem cells. We’re now on a desperate hunt to find Talia a match.
If any of you could share the page on social media or share with any friends who fit the criteria – this could have massive impact and could potentially save Talia’s life.

Any support is much appreciated!
Thanks,

Cargo Bike Sharing Scheme in Stoke Newington - 0 replies
Hello there!
We are currently exploring a possible Cargo Bike Sharing scheme in Stoke Newington and other areas of London. I'm a Stokey resident of 20 years now and know how popular these cargo bikes are in this area.
This service would enable Cargo Bike based journeys for families (carrying 1 to 4 children) or for the transportation of cargo (upto 250kg). For example:
• School runs
• Transportation for after school clubs
• Journeys where there is no / difficult public transport option
At the moment, we think this would operate similar to other bike sharing schemes operating in London (e.g. Santander Cycles, Lime Bikes, Mobike, UBER Jump) but focused on the transportation of cargo (e.g. a weekly supermarket shop) and for use by families (transporting children).
Cargo bikes are one possible solution with benefits including:
• Reducing short, local car journeys (leading to reduced air pollution and congestion) and promoting sustainable transport.
• Carrying signficant cargo (upto 250kg)
Cargo bikes also have a high cost of ownership and are difficult and bulky to store especially in flats and Victorian terraced housing. A Cargo Bike sharing scheme would make cargo bikes accessible to many more local people.
It is absolutely vital that we get feedback from local residents (and other parties) to assess whether or not this could provide a valuable and worthwhile service to the community.

Looking for a job: Singing Teacher / Babysitter - 0 replies
Hi There,
My name is Bianca Green. I’m 27 years of age and work at an advertising agency in Shoreditch. I have recently moved to the area from South London, and am looking to continue my evening babysitting / singing lessons in this lovely new part of London.
I have a lot of experience babysitting, also being the older sister to a 13 year old I can safely say I am used to both toddler and teenage tantrums!
More than happy to help cook, assist with homework etc. I am a creative at heart, having studied fashion at Central St Martins, so i’ll jump at the chance to help with any art/craft based projects!
Recently I’ve been helping a few kids with their contemporary and musical theatre singing audition pieces. I am a singer myself and aim at working with them to build confidence and help them discover their own style. This is something I could do separately, or tie in with babysitting.
I work during the day in the week, so can be available from 6.30 and on Saturdays from 4pm.
Please feel free to get in contact if you have any questions.
Bianca
