My father has been a resident in Tywyn for over 40 years. He has always had to work away and we did live in England while I was growing up. The house that he built with his family was dedicated to my grand mother who never got to see it built. Last year, my father officially retired and moved up to Tywyn as his main residence. However, he had to commute to England to restore his yard in which he hopes to sell and visit me. Naturally, after my mother died 5 years ago, we are close so has been visiting me regularly until now.

My father has always been fit and cycled regularly until he was taken ill last week with a heart attack. He is now out of hospital and in the comfort of his own home in Tywyn. My father is a unionist and believes in a more united world than we have at the moment. Alarmingly, he opened a letter which had come in the post.

It reads this:

Mr Cassey   (THEY CANNOT EVEN SPELL HIS NAME)

Dear Sir,

Perhaps it has escaped your notice that at the start of this crisis and subsequent lockdown the government asked all seconf home owners (in which my dad is as he does not live at the yard but boards with me when he is over here) to stay at their main residence or return to their main residence? This measure was introduced to try to prevent the spread of covid 19 to rural areas where there is a lack of facilties to cope with the outbreak.

The Government requested people to ease the pressure on NHS Wales by sticking to the rules and staying away from rural areas where NHS resources are very limited. Again you have seemed to have missed this bulletin.  ( THIS IS MY FATHER'S HOME AND HE IS ENTITLED TO BE HERE PLUS HE HAS NEVER BEEN A BURDEN UNTIL NOW TO ANYONE AND WE BOTH FOLLOWED SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES).

Your friend has been seen shopping and carrying away from the co-op numerous bags of food. Again with limited food shop in this area and an elderly population the shops really should be used for the resident population.  (IN WHICH MY FATHER IS).

Since you have now returned from NHS Wales hospital and are back in your second home let us hop you did see the bulletin about ALL members of your household self isolating after hospital treatment?  ( MY FATHER HAS HAD A HEART ATTACK SO WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MUCH AT ALL FOR THE NEXT YEAR).

Perhaps now may be the time to consider returning to your main residence? (MY FATHER IS AT HIS BASE AND HIS MAIN RESIDENTS AND I AM HERE AS HIS GUEST TO SUPPORT HIM IN HIS HOUR OF NEED).

From Concerned Tywyn Residents

I think that this should be handed to the local police as it clearly is a separist notion from a disturbed resident who has been spying on me going out to get essentials. Its terms are also racist and faceless. I wonder how people could be so evil and so cruel to lovely man who really does not need this. He read that letter and he was choked at how he has been mistreated. Yes, he has socially moved in the past year but only because he wants to sell his other properties in which he does not live in. Yes, he has got ill by commuting between 2 countries and being so busy. He has never deserved this and now the separist communist movement has deeply upset him. I am also afriad to say that my father will no longer be able to work on his 2 other properties or go to England. He is a main residence who is Irish-British. I am handing this to the local police as I think that there are some disturbed and horrible people in Tywyn now. I will personally track down this faceless sender of this letter. I will tell you that if my father suffers any set back in his condition or dies of the horrible things that were contained in this letter, whoever the recipient is will be hearing from my solicitor.
