I lived in Whaley Bridge for many years.
We moved out of the area in 2012. We still own a property there on Jodrell road. It is tenanted. We require a one off deep clean equating to around three hours work asap.

Very, very many thanks to the kind lady who helped us when our Vizsla dog collapsed. Without her help we would have been in real trouble as vets and taxis could not come out to us.
Unfortunately we didn't get her name, all we know is that she is a schooll teacher and had a smalll black dog and a blue car.
Our dog recovered and enjoyed the rest of his holiday,
We had other offers of help but the road closure didn't make it possible.

I was born in Whaley Bridge in 1956 and lived there until 1984, when I moved to Kent. I am compiling a history of my family and the town where I was born and need a little help, does anyone have a scanned copy of the old Town Map you used to get in the Town Guide in the 50/60's from the local council.
I would also like to hear from anyone who lived on Williamson Road, or in Wheatsheaf Cottages, behind Buxton Road, or anyone who went to Whaley Bridge Primary School in the 50/60's. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

My chihuahua was lost last night 24th May along the towpath Buxworth Canal between Tesco carpark and Buxworth basin. His name is Alfie; brown/white coat and easily identified as he has an undershot lower jaw which makes his tongue hang out. He is very friendly but will be extremely scared as he ‘bolted’ after being chased around Tesco car park by youths who were trying to help catch him.

Phone lost between goyt inn and long hill whaley bridge.Possible places are the old railway walk to old rd, old rd to chapel rd,chapel rd to long hill.
