Does anyone from the old street life use this forum ?, I haven't had any notifications for weeks/months, I assume this is because there is nothing to notify. Does anyone use the Next door site ?
Thanks Jane, I have changed my settings several times, and I get notifications for a few days then they stop, as you say I don't think I am missing anything as there doesn't seem to be anything of interest

Of course you can. Just tell us by private message and we will happily remove you and all your details plus all your posts and private messages and you won't receive any further notification emails .
You can also stop your email digests anytime yourself if you wish and it's easy to stop posting.
Thank you.
I am ex Streetlife, and sadly nobody has joined from my area either 😢 Just hang on in there and hope more join from your area.
I tend to read all the posts no matter what area 😁

Hi Phil
I use both sites but there's very little happening on Nextdoor, either. It's a shame when Streetlife was such a thriving network. I thought perhaps people had stopped communicating on Nextdoor because of the lack of privacy, but then once you are signed up to it there's nothing left to lose if you post a message.
Is anyone talking on a network we don't know about?
Cheers,
Jay

Yes, I agree once signed up for nextdoor then its a bit late for the privacy issue but for me I was so annoyed with the lack of privacy that I wouldn't post there now anyway.
I soooo miss Streetlife :(
I find the format of this site hard to use, especially on the phone. It's such a shame Streetlife went!

Please let us know what you liked about the phone format on SL.
We have many members who have never used SL and we have not had any mentions of issues with the user friendliness of the site, even the phone format.
What would be good is if people from SL would post new topics on different interesting subjects and questions (like they possibly did on SL) . It can't get going if you don't post. We have loads of other areas that are busy but Aldwick seems to only be about the loss of SL ...it was unfortunate but there a life after SL if you want to cultivate it. I'm sure, as another ex-Streerlifer kindly said, that SL didn't start buzzing straight away. It must have taken a while to get to where it was when it closed down.
Why not try answering or starting some normal posts on Aldwick and get things moving. :)
We have had one or two good members try to get things going on here but no one answered them...it's up to you to help them and maybe post a few topic's.
Thanks.
Jan
One of the things I dislike most about this site is the need to keep clicking links to see what has been posted. Streetlife gave you a summary on the email notification and then if it was of interest you would click the link. I also had a regular notification every morning, on this forum I seldom receive any, ever though I have extended my area to include West Sussex.
It's no point trying to post anything new or interesting on my local site, nobody answered when I did months ago, albeit I was saying hello but I was talking to myself except for the owners, saying hi.
