Poem for today: Originally written for Great Yarmouth where I once lived, and then decided it should apply nationwide.
Two Sides of the Cityside
COME to Great Britain to see the cities
And poverty, pregnancy and everyman pee
Come see the sights of the bright-coloured lights
And dog poo, spit and rubbish so free.
HEY, come to Great Britain to see the cities
And fast food counters serving high obesities
Come hear the boys in their four-wheeled toys
Peacock proud, playing music so loud
You just wanna stop'em with a point BB!
DO come to Great Britain to see the cities
And find a street that's alcohol, drugs, or dealer-free
You can drive to the beach and have an ice cream
Arcades within reach or just sit and dream
As you listen to the sound of another child ground
Into poverty, pregnancy and everyman pee!
PLEASE come to Great Britain to see the cities
And the blind-eyed buffoons who refuse to see
Again how great, or is it too late,
That Britain could really be.
