Dear old ladies....
Could I put in a plea to 2 no doubt charming old ladies who live on my estate and the adjacent one? It's happened to me twice now that, walking along the pavement with my dog, it has only been my anticipation and quick reactions that have saved us both from injury? Both were reversing onto the main road- usual pattern, retired to a country/seaside village, nice little bungalow, nice little hatchback- and were looking one way only. Both stopped when I yelled and both said "Sorry, I didn't see you", to which I pointed out that your are supposed to keep an eye in all directions when reversing? And in the interests of equality, I would mention the damn fool who was in the process of moving house- he came out at speed looking one way only and nearly mowed my dog down. A group of neighbours chatting on the other side of the road saw it all and agreed he is a bloody fool.
