Alien invasion and Tidy freaks and an odorous walk

If my memory serves me well !!! , there is an element of i have been here before , BOWMOOR Sailing lake I took a walk around this  location on Friday 24/6/2017 . the first time for several years from the moment i opened the car door i new there was something wrong the identifiable pong of Blue green Algae pervaded the air . I am not easily put off so away i went down the left hand side of the lake not much has changed lots more dog poo in bags and out of bags when will dog walkers wake up and smell the roses the spread of excretea is widespread so is the stench  . Blue green Algae is toxic to dogs take my word for it if your dog swims in or drinks this water it can suffer dangerous stomach conditions . NEXT an amazing predominance  of Blue damsel flies literally thousands of them , Beautiful yes BUT worrying , when one species dominates all the others itusually indicates a problem by the time i reached the low point where bowmoor drains into its neighbouring lake during the winter floods things were getting worse i had only seen 2 varieties of butterflies and only 3 of them and one of day flying moths .My attention was distracted by one of the sailing clubs rescue boats tearing around at full throttle there was ony one rather sedate sailor on the lake at the time so why was it neccesary for 3 persons to charge about over the length of the lake flat out ?. I learnt something from this act of Machismo behaviour !! It very much looks like the club have tried treating the Blue/Green Algae with chemicals this time they have not left the empty containers in the lake margins as they did last time i caught them out . How do i know without evidence easy just look at the flume of water at the back of the rescue boat bright blue/ Green  about as unatural as you could image and the passengers  and driver of said boat are breathing in this noxious airborne miasma  the dosing of a body of water with chemical Compounds is virtually impossible to achieve with any kind of accuracy . So you are faced with a pigs ear moment put it in cautiously and risk it being totally a waste of time or lash it in the hope it will not cause harm to humans or wildlife . Their is an organic solution simple cheap and safe Barley straw Strategically place bales of Barley straw around and in the margins of the lake the chemical reaction from Barley straw destroys blue green algae . How do i know well i used to be a Head Bailiff for an angling organisation called Cemex and i have an inquiring mind . NEXT I continued my walk around the lake at this point , i must be honest and admit to my primary reason for trekking round the lake .I am nuts absolutly bonkers about native Orchids and wildflowers and butterflies on my last visit 2-3years ago  i counted 8 species of orchids Exceptional for a non reserve site . on friday i only found 4 a 50% reduction i am horrified and the butterfly numbers are decimated so what has happened at this green oasis . The Lakes for Yoo have happened their Tidy Freaks have mowed off every trace of growth from most of the strategic Orchid growth  areas and over 90 % of the thistle growth areas which the butterflies need for egg laying it should have been a stunning year for butterflies and day flying moths High temperatures and humidity woud have ensured vast numbers of juveniles to carry forward the species . This is the second time i have shed tears for the the cruel actions of the ignorant fools fromthe Lakes for YOO .they have an ecologist on their payroll who used to run round this Lake daily his actions or lack of action is shameful  where Wildlife is  concerned we are over the tipping point thevcountryside is under attack already how can they justify these actions . And whilst i am on the subject when do we get the footpath back that they robbed from us local people , covetous  in the name of Profit you have repeatedly convinced the authorities of your need for extensions of closure the time is up . The game is over . you have been warned.
