Like CilcainKid I missed reading all the interesting chat on the Tredegar.co.uk website. I contacted the webteam and was sorry to hear that a member of the team had died in December 2022, and that Pierre himself is not in the best of health and has had to close down the website. There are no plans to restore it. I'm sure we appreciate the great work Pierre did for over 30 years and wish him well.

So what does that mean and have I lost all the Forum items I saved

Yes, I’m afraid that at the moment there’s no access to any posts, photos, maps or anything else that was on the tredegar.co.uk website. Unless Pierre decides otherwise, it’s gone forever. Maybe there’s someone out there who might be willing and capable to revive a tredegar based forum, but I don’t know whether it would be possible to retrieve all the material from the old site. I suppose it would require some negotiation with Pierre.
Sorry I can’t be more help.

Many Thanks for replying to my request,I am so grateful and must apologise profusely for not replying earlier, but for some illness and a malfunction on my Computer I was unable to.
I hope Pierre is continuing to improve with his recovery.
My background is that I was born in Kimberley Tr Georgetown .Mam and Dad, and Grandfather were members of Siloh Chapel,my Mother was a Soprano in the Choir and my Dad was an Organist,Indeed my Great Grandfather was the famous Reverend Rhys Jenkins.Which brings me onto a request, has anyone got any photo,s of inside of the Siloh Chapel,my Grandfather and I used to attend the Sunday evenings and we sat upstairs on the left looking down to the Pulpit listening to The Reverend E.P.Thomas, great nights.

Hi Jazz
I recently came across this website, which deals mainly with memorials in churches honouring members of congregations who lost their lives in the Great War. This has illustrations not only of the roll of honour plaque in Siloh, but also of the chapel interior.
I hope it’s of some interest to you. You may also find the following picture of more personal interest -

If you’re not already familiar with this website, you’ll find a lot of photographs of Tredegar. Some compensation in part for the loss of the much loved ‘Tredegar.co.uk’ website.

Best wishes to yourself and all others who stumble across this website
There exists an Internet facility called 'Wayback Machine': Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free & Borrowable Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine. Inserting 'tredegar.co,uk' in the search box will retrieve the website. Unfortunately, I am not adept at using the Wayback Machine. But if I am able to learn how to use it, and if anyone is interested, I should be willing to share any useful lessons with the Forum. P.S. The Internet Archive is a vital free historical resource.
