Reminiscing about childhood memories of the 1950s - 0 replies

Berni1945 Posted by Berni1945 in General Hazel Grove discussion on Sun Jan 23, 2022 9:10am

Hi,

I was born in Stepping Hill just before Christmas 1945 - an early baby boomer.  I lived on Clarendon road for the next 20 years before I emmigrated to Australia as a single guy.  My bedroom overlooked the reservoir (reser) which was my iconic childhood playground.  I remember too fishing on the sandbank shoulder to shoulder with dozens of other boomers - hoping to catch a roach, but more likely only catching a tiddler.

I live now in Perth Western Australia and I often look back with nostalgia about those childhood days and wonder if there are other members who would like swap memories of those iconic times?

Sadly Looking for a new parent for my beautiful boy Benny.

Benny is 6months old. American bully cross
Toilet trained and does most of his tricks, sit, paw, lay down etc. he is very nervous with strangers so am looking for someone calm and patient, he can be vary wary with new people coming into the house but once he knows there is no danger he is very loving( can be very excitable as he’s still a baby) , will follow you everywhere and tends to sit on your feet and absolutely loves a cuddle.
he is very affectionate and loves attention.
the reason I am looking for a new parent For Benny is that I am having a baby and am not able to keep up with a large growing family and his needs too, he’s such a lovely boy I want him to have the attention he deserves.
I have 2 young children already who he loves and is great with them. They are 6 and 4.
I generally walk him for 40 mins to an hour a day so would really like to find someone who has the time to keep he’s routine going.
As Benny can be nervous with new people I am more than happy to gradually introduce him to someone new.

This has been a very hard decision to make
As we love him so much.
Please only people who have experience with dogs and who have the time to give him walks and attention he needs .

For sale: Corner sofa - 0 replies

KitKat Posted by KitKat in Buy and sell items in Long Buckby on Sat Jan 22, 2022 1:13pm

Corner sofa bought in a sale from Males, Daventry on a whim but it doesn't fit - see photo.  Not used much.  Photo looks as though there are dark patches on the sofa - these are just the way the nap lies - the colour is a light grey with three scatter cushions - it is not stained or marked in any way.  We could deliver locally, at a pinch (small trailer on the back of a small car, two journeys).
