My research into family history has unearthed an ancestor called Elisha Stevens married to Frances (nee Franklin) who resided as school master & mistress at Woodcott Free School in 1841 and 1851. These dates are Census dates. Elisha was born about 1810 and became a Land surveyor by 1861 living at Horn Lane. In 1841 & 1851 the Censuses recorded a residence of South Stoke which, I assume, included the now named  Woodcote. By 1871 Elisha & Frances moved to Reading. Frances was born at Ewelme.

Any information to link these people to Woodcote, South Stoke would be great.

Hi all!

So I have some very restless kids at home (As I'm sure we all do!) and one of their favourite things to do at the moment is ask for things that aren't open! One wants horse riding lessons and one wants to learn to ski!

I want to plan and research so that once the restrictions are lifted, I can get the kids into their lessons of choice!

Horse riding I think I'm sorted - but ski lessons are a bit beyond me. I've been looking at several options, but we're within driving distance of Chill Factore in Manchester - they have a section about their ski lessons but I wondered if anyone has any experience with this company? I know that skiing can be dangerous so I want to make sure I'm fully informed before booking these lessons! SO any reviews/comments would be helpful!

We are moving to the area and looking for a property to rent for my wife and I, along with our 2 cats. 

We are finding it very difficult to find anything suitable before they are snapped up.

We need to move in before March 10th and would really appreciate any help on finding somewhere.

Commitments mean we need to move into the Whitstable area. Does anyone live near the secondary school in Bellevue Rd? I just wonder if parking is big problem near the entrance? Are the recent new parking proposals going ahead for general parking in the town? many thanks
