Wolf and lynx reintroductions in the UK - 0 replies

Alexa123 Posted by Alexa123 in General Glasgow discussion on Mon Apr 4, 2022 12:28pm

Hi,

I am a BA student from the University of York collecting questionnaire data as part of a research study that will form part of my final dissertation. I would be extremely grateful for any UK citizens over the age of 18 to fill in this anonymous online questionnaire form that should take no longer than 10 minutes.

This questionnaire is about investigating the relationships between the opinions of the public on predatory reintroductions and the various factors including age, exposure to wildlife, and knowledge and perception of predators and UK environmental issues. The predators in question are wolves and lynxes so please think of these two animals when answering.

Please follow the link below where you will find the questionnaire, more information on the project, and my email in case you have any questions about this project.

Thank you in advance for taking part

Anna101 Posted by Anna101 in Introduce yourselves in Glasgow on Tue Jun 21, 2016 12:20pm

Hello everyone my name is Anna, I live in Cumbernauld and currently retired.

I am hoping to break down some brick walls in my family tree by finding people who may have a connection to the following families ..

Colemans who originated from Ireland and settled in Maryhill .. Michael who is my gt. grandad, his brother Patrick who married a Catherine Glen and his sister Catherine who married Malcolm McCormick.

I also have connections to the Munro family who lived in Gorbals, McKenna's who came from Maryhill and Campsie, Smith/Kerr who lived in the saltmarket area.

Would be great to hear from anyone who thinks they might have a connection .. these brick walls seem to be getting higher to climb as I am getting older lol ...

Exciting new development in the East End of Glasgow with affordable and accomodating workspace for anyone working with wood. We have a range of specialised workspaces and tools available to hire on an hourly basis, all designed around comfort, practically and enjoyability of working with wood.

Looking fur information about Munro/Monro family Garbols, Glasgow - 1 replies

hatton65 Posted by hatton65 in Ancestry and family history in Glasgow on Tue Mar 15, 2016 1:28pm

I think I have traced my 4th Great Grandmother in the Garbols, Glasgow in 1841, her name is Ann  Oxley and I think she is living with her father Kenneth Munro. Ann was widowed in 1840 and on the census her occupation is tobacconist, I found her marriage to Thomas Oxley in 1823.

I want to know more about Kenneth Munro and the family, where they lived after the 1841 census and when did he die and where he was born.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks Andrea
