• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Pianist Tadashi Imai has selected the programme to complement the momentous Brahms Concerto. It traces the lineage from Beethoven, through Schubert to Brahms. The presence of the former composers is clear throughout Brahms' great piano concerto, the first and one of only a few examples of a concerto written in the more traditionally symphonic four movement configuration.

Fortismere Community Choir and Symphony Orchestra are holding open rehearsals at the start of the new term for anyone interested in joining a choir or orchestra. More details below!

The Symphony Orchestra is looking to recruit some new string and brass players - anyone interested in trying us out is very welcome to join us for the first two rehearsals of the new term on 9th and 16th January, 7 pm. We will be starting rehearsals for our next concert which will be Beethoven's Fidelio overture, Schubert 8th Symphony and Brahms' 2nd Piano Concerto. String players should be Grade 6 or above, brass players minimum Grade 8.

Everyone welcome to try out our friendly, unauditioned yet very ambitious community choir! The first two rehearsals on 13th and 20th January are open to singers of all ages and experience. Tenors and basses particularly welcome. We will be starting rehearsals for our next performance - the beautiful and profound Mozart Requiem.

Jan Dismas Zelenka Missa dei Filii ZWV 20 | Interval | Carols for choir and audience

Discover the ingenious and unconventional composer Jan Dismas Zelenka, a Baroque composer who was highly acclaimed at the time, and yet whose works fell into obscurity for the next 200 years. J S Bach himself knew Zelenka personally, and held his music in high esteem. Fortismere Community Choir hope to contribute to the resurgence of this long-forgotten musical giant, considered by many an equal to Bach, Handel and Vivaldi, with a performance of his Missa dei Filii. The second half will be Christmas carols for audience and choir.

Muswell Hill's very own symphony orchestra present an exciting programme for their first concert of the new season. 

The concert will start with the opening of Haydn’s Creation. This is the most extraordinary depiction of chaos with quite visionary use of harmony. We will then be joined by Syrian rising star Bilal Al Nemr who will be travelling in from Berlin to play Beethoven's Violin Concerto. For the second half, we will perform Schumann’s wonderful Fourth Symphony.

LOST GOLD NECKLACE CHAIN: I lost my delicate gold chain on Muswell Road yesterday evening (19/08/23).
