Wood Burners with Back Boilers. - 0 replies
Hello. I'm looking for companies that have some expertise in supplying and installing wood burning stoves with back boilers. I'm hoping to be able to add a woodburner to our gas heating system to do some of the heating and hot water. Most of the companies I've found only deal in dry systems. Any ideas? Many thanks

Studio Space Wanted - 0 replies
Photographer and artist seeking modest studio space in or around Stroud, Chalford or Nailsworth (or within 5 miles) for a startup business offering photographic services to local artists.
The space can be basic, but a key requirement is high walls and space for hanging and photographing works.
The ability to control natural light (shutters, blinds) is preferred, but not essential.
A small studio, warehouse space, attic, cellar, barn or workshop, with power, would be ideal (wifi a bonus).
Length of let TBD, dependant on property and location.
Safest areas to live in Stroud - 0 replies
Hi everyone!
First time poster.
I’m in my 30s and thinking of moving to Stroud or one of the surrounding villages. I just had a few questions and would be very grateful for some local knowledge.
Which are the safest areas of Stroud? (Very important to me). And possible areas to avoid? I saw some properties in pagan hill, but have been warned away from this area? Though properties/countryside looks lovely and affordable to buy in etc.
Is there a vibrant creative community? I’m a writer/artist outside of my project management day job, and this would be a major plus for me.
Are there any people in their early 30s who would recommend the area/have moved to Stroud? I’m from London, currently living in a quiet area of Somerset and I don’t have children. I mostly enjoy being in rural surroundings but it would be cool to have a bit of night life/places to eat/creative events etc.
I know that’s a lot of questions, but any info on any of the topics would be really appreciated!
Thanks so much,
Bron

Does ‘Cis Cottage’ Still have that name - 0 replies
I was born at Tetbury, my parents rented rooms in Stroud, all my mother told me was that the house was called Cis cottage , upper leazes and was owned by Mrs Holiday and it was at the top of a steep hill , this was in 1946 , I spent a few days in the Stroud area recently walking up the many hills in Stroud without much joy. I know it’s a long shot but I thought I would try this forum for possible information from a Stroud resident

Quarantine Logistics - 0 replies
I live in Spain and am coming to Stroud to visit my elderly mother from October 1st. I can't afford hotel (or even many airbnb) prices and there is no current gov.uk advice relating to the provision or finding of quarantine accommodation for people in that position. My hope is that via this forum I can locate a suitable room/posh shed/humble glamp -whatever- to permit me to comply with the regulations. It would have to be self-catering with someone shopping for me, or full board with separate bathroom facilities. I'm a woman in my mid-sixties, of clean habits and good education, most recently working as a private language teacher and live-in carer. I'm used to living in the depth of the country with few modern luxuries, though a good mobile connection is essential for me to be in close contact with my mother, who is desperate to see me and will probably find the quarantine more difficult than I will! I expect to pay for the accommodation within the limits mentioned, so am open to negotiation. So fingers crossed that among the good folk of Stroud, there's someone who can help!
