Funding
Sefton Labour have asked for support from the Conservatives in trying to get more funding for Sefton residents as the Corvid 19 has taken it's toll on income. The Conservative's answer is and I quote below. I must add, the numbers I quoted to the Conservatives were figures gained from the taken from a report from the Executive Director of Corporate Resources and Customer Services Sefton Council. I personally would have thought that anything which will benefit the residents of Sefton would be fought for by all parties. Showing a united front does not seem to be the order of the day.
The estimated cost of the Covid-19 impact upon Sefton’s finances are not fixed and continue to evolve, so the numbers you are quoting are invalid.
Numbers that are valid include the receipts from Government that currently total £20,000,000 + of Covid-19 Grant allocation.
Before I respond to your ‘Questions’ I would like to point out that at the last election – and you know the result, the British voting public chose to trust the Conservatives with the nation’s finances – not Labour.
So just why we might be asked to support a Labour call relating to financial matters is surprising.
Draw your own conclusions.
