Dear Sallybee,
Thank you for replying to my post.
I live in Lincoln, so I am afraid it is outside my local area.
If you live in Retford and are allowed to walk around your local graveyards, I should be very grateful if you would keep an eye out for Mary's grave.
But please don't.go to any trouble, as the gravestone may have fallen - and may be really hard to find.
In short, it might be something to simply bear at the back of your mind if you happen to be taking a walk anyway.
if you look closely at the photograph there seems to be some metal railings - and then a gap, maybe a field, a canal or a railway line - and then after that some houses in the distance. No doubt the whole area will look different now - and the railings may have been removed.
Her husband John Otter Taylor, was buried in the graveyard of St Bartholomew's in Sutton, but her grave does not seem to be there.
Many thanks for your interest. Appreciated.

Dear Sallybee,
Just a little note to let you know that Mary Taylor's headstone has been found in Ordsall churchyard. So that is now all sorted.
But thank you for offering to help.
Do you think that your family might be related to Mary's family?

Dear Sallybee,
Of course, I think there is a way you can do it on the forum.
Of course, there is no need to send the whole tree, but I think I would need one or two grand parents or great grandparents to get an idea.
I would like to thank Mrs Helen Richards, for pointing out to me, that Mary's Headstone is located in the graveyard of All Hallows Church, Ordsall.
Mary had a number of children, born in Reford between about 1850 and 1870, among whom were:
John Otter Taylor,
Ann Elizabeth Taylor
Martha Taylor
Walter Taylor
Maude Taylor, and
Eleanor Taylor.
Perhaps you may be descended from one of them?
