I too have been 'done' with this camera and have made a representation, if that fails I'm prepared to take it to court.

In short - I've cited that there is no notice given as you turn left into Dulwich Village, from E Dulwich Grove, there is no indication that you have entered a zone subject to any additional restrictions....

...

Taking the following route through and back out of Dulwich Village you also encounter no signs.

E Dulwich Grove, turn left into Dulwich Village, turn right into Turney Road then turn left into Burgage Road. Stop at the end where you encounter the 2 mini roundabouts with multiple traffic scenarios.

It is at this point you will need to look carefully right for traffic from the roundabouts and also the road to the right, plus looking for anyone turning left into Burbage who's not indicated correctly ..

From the drivers view point the signs are completely invisible due to the placement / height, see photo, and a correctly installed drivers mirror would simply be in the way for most drivers.

If you do suddenly see the signage after having started your turn left, you are faced with the option of braking hard or pulling hard to the right back onto the second roundabout as you make the turn. Both are highly dangerous manouvers and I believe would be considered driving without due care and attention should you cause a car behind you to colide with yours.

The council could respond with we don't need advanced signage, however they do actually provide it for changes on Calton Avenuewhen you turn into Dulwich Village from E Dulwich Grove, see photo,

I'll update when I hear back from Southwark. But I don't believe anyone should be paying this, depending on the route they took through Dulwich.

Has anyone had any success in challenging this enforcement setup or know when it was put in place?

I was stung on 08/09/21 and due to the introduction of ULEZ sold my vehicle as it wasn't compliant. I also moved house at this time so didn't receive the notice. The charge was passed to a collection agency and now stands at £514. I completed a PE2 and a PE3 but both have been declined.

Any relevant information would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi All, I got pinged on Dulwich Village, and our appeal has been rejected even though we had a mother and a child that were crossing the road to contend with as well, surely their well being should be paramount before processing the lack of sufficient signage. Looking at the news reports (

...="https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motoring-news/london-borough-ltn-cameras-catch-out-drivers/)" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motoring-news/london-borough-ltn-cameras-catch-out-drivers/) this seems to be a cash generator for Southwark council, having taken £2.5m, £1.5m of that - "In Dulwich Village, drivers have received 22,424 fines between January 11 and February 28 2021.

I'm keen to hear from anyone that has taken this to the next level by appealing to the 'London Tribunals Environment and Traffic Adjudicators? and what their experience has been?

Following my 17/06/22 post........

Has anyone had any success in challenging this enforcement setup or know when it was put in place?

My appeal has been REFUSED. I now have to pay the £514 and have a CCJ on my record. On speaking to a representative from the collections company he said don't bother appealing it through the courts (with hearing £275, £108 without) he's never known of anyone having the ruling revoked/changed and the debt gets passed back to them anyway.

And we live in a democtacy

I'm a business that works local and went through a road closure 4 days in a row without noticing :-(. The Fines are now £816 I dont know what to do except pay. Can't afford it! I may let it go to court and hopefully a judge will see sense.

I'm sure you were not the only one.

Contest it if you have evidence but they don't do "Sense" they will just fine you and pass to debt collection if you don't pay, which will cost you more. suppose it will stall it for a bit so you can find the money.....

It's absolute robbery though!

There is no 'going to court'. The debts have already been registered at court. The process is automatic.

So I guess you mean 4 X £204 ?

How did you get in that position? Did you ignore PCNs?

It's a very common situation and you've probably been refused because you didn't understand the purpose of the PE2.

There is no CCJ for these btw.

Might be salvaged but you need to come and engage with us >

Hi Neil,

yes that’s right 4 x £204.

Because they came one after another it just ending up overwhelming me. I appealed them all in one email quoting all the notice numbers. That came back and was refused (I said the signing wasn’t enough and asked them to remove them and I’ll take a different route home from now on ) and they said I have to appeal each one individually even though that one was rejected.

After that I’ve been so busy and I’m just lost with it, don’t know how to deal with it. I have them all, I keep looking at them all but don’t know what to do!

If they halved  the amount I’d just pay it so it goes away but I don’t want to because is ridiculous! How can the council inflict this sort of hassle and financial beating on people is beyond me 🤦🏼‍♂️

If courts not an option I’ll have to find the money Somehow I guess. .

Please explain what you mean about 'have to appeal each one individually' ?
How did you submit representations for all four, i.e. did you clearly state all PCN numbers?

Show us their response.

This forum is appalling in nor having the habit of showing documents. Is it even possible?

The bailiff is lying. Most N244 applications are successful if they have a sound basis and address the correct matters. BUT the contravention itself and challenging the original enforcement are NOT the relevant issues for people in your position.
