I can only repeat myself. If you want real help, get over to and engage with the forum I linked.

For those with earlier PCNs you are just throwing it away otherwise.

HappyRabbit has talked a lot about signs and comprehensively. He/She had a PCN cancelled by Southwark. That's unusual for an individual PCN case but I'm yet to understand what a 'warning' is?

If you are going to rely solely on sign issues then be mindful of what has happened at adjudication and what was considered in each case. The full outcomes are freely available to read.

The current scoreboard is 39 losses, 7 wins.

Does your score  board refer to the Dulwich PCNs and is this public information one could look up? It would be really helpful To know On what grounds the wins  were achieved - ie in terms of deciding whether to pay or challenge.

Evening all, I too have just received a PCN for driving through Dulwich Village (approaching from College Rd). I never drive through here, but was taking my young daughter to a hospital appointment and never saw ANY sign warning of cameras or restrictions. Obviously it’s a money-making scam by the council, but my feeling is that any appeal I make will be pointless, as it’s simply too easy for the council to just reject my appeal and keep my money. They’re making SO much from this (over £1m in the last few months alone) - it’s not in their interest to even CONSIDER any appeal.

It’s such a kick in the teeth - especially when I’m just getting over my wife being ill with covid, and trying to run a business that employs a bunch of people etc. Not sure what to do...

Really sorry to hear this – if you look through the thread above there is a dropbox link with lots of photos of the views from different approaches that I took after being done myself.

I would take a look at the evidence approaching from college Road-the signage is not the same compared with approaching the roundabout from Gallery Road.

You might want to use this evidence in challenging PCN, But as Neil above says go to the fightback forum where he and other experts will give you really good advice for free based on your individual circumstances of the PCN

Thanks so much for the quick response - appreciate it. I’ve actually just paid it as I need to get on with work / life / kids off school (again) due to covid. Let them have their £65. Wa*kers.

I'm not sure of the exact date Clare.

The PCNs had a legal flaw up to a certain point and were then corrected.

You might be lucky but you'll have to post on the forum and lets us have a look at the PCNs.

Thanks to both Neil 59 and happyrabbit for replies to my post, and for giving information that might be useful in any representations.

I had already made representations with respect to all the PCNs prior to my/your posts. I hadn't posted my PCNs on the pepipoo forum but I had looked at it before making the representations. I saw a point about a legal flaw relating to the date of issue/service of the PCN. If it is this point that you are referring to, Neil, then sadly(?!) this had been corrected on the PCNs that I (courtesy of my young adult children travelling to fairly low paid work) had received. In any case, I presume it would be too late to alter my representations now. I did make use of other helpful comments on the forum, and other relevant sources.

I was expecting, from Southwark's own acknowledgement e-mails, responses to my representations by last Thursday but I have not as yet heard anything. I notice now though that they only say that a response will 'normally' be sent within 21 days. Perhaps they are receiving a large number of representations and are unable to meet their own estimated turnaround times.....

Thanks again
Clare

Hi Clare

It took around 6 weeks for Southwark to reply to mine. I don't believe they have a time limit for response, but of course the 'accused' only has limited time.. With Southwark I would assume that they have a volume based issue, since so many are appealing.

There seems to be a growing uprising against these low traffic neighbourhoods, since they are hopelessly planned / executed. I was driving near Old Street the other day and one of the turns led me down a one way run with the giant plant pots at the end ! The choice was either leave car and buy a new one or drive back the wrong way on a one way...

I've still got the car, so you can assume my choice :) I'm sure a PCN or two is heading my way. I do hope these get to court... :)

The real solution here is to get the Dulwich Village restrictions removed. Campaign time I think.

The tribunal Register is open to anyone to read but can be difficult to use as it is a bit fickle.

I'll post a link in a sec. It's the closest link possible, rather than individual cases or search results.

Statutory registers >> search E&TA register.

Enter authority - Southwark (and let the field complete for you)

Filter by decision date --/--/---- otherwise you'll end up looking at years of historic parking cases.

I think the earliest decision was April but use 01/03/2021 just in case.

Location is fickle. You can use the wildcard % to make it work >>> DULWICH VILLAGE%

You mentioned looking at successful cases but it is equally valuable to look at the losers to see what went wrong and avoid pitfalls yourself.

A common one I see, for LTN related restrictions all over London, is "I've always used this road for many years" Completely irrelevant and worthless. Another is "I don't agree with the restriction".

There have been some cases won on signage in the last week. I'm noticing, for LTN related cases all over London, it takes time for adjudicators to 'twig' the picture and where loads of early cases lost, similar presentations are now winning.

Let me know how you get on with the Register. https://londontribunals.org.uk/

Thanks. I've also written to the local MP and will follow up with the relevant local Councillor in charge of transport.

There's clearly something wrong when so many are getting caught out.

Hi all,

So I've just had a response from Southwark Council as to the volume of PCNs and associated revenue from these new restrictions in Dulwich Village- see screenshot below. The results are staggering. They are basically generating half a million pounds a month.

Depending on the outcome of my appeal, I might be contacting the local press and my MP about this. It's clearly a revenue generation exercise.

This is outrageous and fascinating. I wonder how this compares to other boroughs. I think I taking this to the press would be a good idea. Try The One Show. They love a good story!
