Welcome to Norwich Julie and family
There's plenty to do once places start to reopen.
The city is fortunate to have lots of independent eateries, pubs, cafes etc. Stalls on the market are starting to reopen. It's a great place to shop and grab a bite. We like Henry's Hog Roast, Cocina Mia (empanades etc) & Ron's chippy.
There are 3 theatres, cinemas, bowling and more. Castle Mall is redefining itself as a leisure space as shops close. Free table tennis, pianos and other things.
https://www.stn.org.uk/kids is an active church and doing lots for children at this time. Normally there is loads going on and The Mitre next to STN is run by the church yet has a great community feel. They do wonderful coffee too when it reopens. They are also doing lots of other online activities if that interests you.
There are lots of parks and woods to explore within the city and the wider suburbs.
Although the libraries are currently closed, you can still borrow ebooks, audio books & publications by joining online

Several local pubs are doing take-away ales & drinks; some food too. The EDP, local paper, may have a list on their website. Walnut Tree Shades and The Angel Gardens are 2 doing food.
When I moved here in 2010, Norwich was in the Top 10 of shopping places in the country. Sadly recession (and now current situation) has somewhat reduced this yet it's still a great place for shopping. Magdalen St has lots of quirky shops as well as second-hand dealers. You'll enjoy walking around the city to find places - it's an intimate city. I'm very glad to be here and I hope you all are too 😀
