welcome Daisy

Thankyou
I've joined from Streetlife too. Admittedly i've never needed to post anything on Streetlife but followed the Norwich site with interest & noted many of the local services available. Hoping this site will be as useful
Has anyone noticed that the messages on Streetlife are drying up? Are people moving to Nextdoor? Or are Streetlife blocking messages and replies.? Although my cryptic reference to this site is still there - no replies. Which considering the objection to Nextdoor I am surprised about. Perhaps another Streetlifer who's found refuge here could test it out.
There have been a couple of messages that say they have replied on Nextdoor. One said 'Replied to Julie on Nextdoor', although 'Julie' hadn't posted on the thread....
I'm starting to private message people with this link. It's nice to be among our little community.

HeyJan54,
Can't find the thread you mentioned, but the two I put there yesterday are still active, albeit with no replies. Just managed to put a post on another thread.

Hi Tony42 thank you for introducing me to Norwich Forum. I am not moving next door, that is closed, shame about SL. Steven J
My pleasure, Steven, glad you've joined us.
I've joined from Streetlife, unfortunately so far I am the only one in Brixham. Joining was made difficult by mylocalforum listing Torbay as a county (it is a Unitary Authority) when Brixham should be listed within the county of Devon. (mylocalforum was very quick to respond to my query about Brixham's location).
I do prefer the Streetlife and Nextdoor interface which I found simpler and easier to use, in comparison I find mylocalforum a bit clunky and less intuitive. Having said that all software has some learning curve and I shall persevere.
If Nextdoor addressed the privacy issue (what were they thinking?!) I would give them a try, however my other reservation is that I do not think that their localities are geographically big enough to sustain an online base.
I think we can see the posts we've made but no-one else can. Couldn't see Jan's or Tony's. Blocking...
